Will I complete my reading goals?  It is taking me longer to finish my very long novel.  I am hoping with my vacation around the corner that I will have more time to read.  I hope you are all enjoying your books this summer.  Have they taken you to far away places?  My book is taking me to Mexico eighty years ago!  Are they teaching you something you didn't know before?  I am reading a book on baking bread with a special technique and another one on training for a marathon. I am also reading the newspaper every day and a book about teaching and learning.  I guess that means that I have at least four non-fiction books/newspapers going at one time along with my novel.  Novels are works of fiction and according to the dictionary, are realistic fiction. 

What better thing to do on a hot and steamy July day but to find some shade or a cool room and curl up with a good book!  At our last Town Meeting we talked about how important it is to read every day over the summer.  I hope you are all making some time to enjoy a good book.  Have you set your reading goals?  I realized that I had so many books I wanted to read that I better set goals and make a plan.  I am into my first novel as well as two books for work.  I am taking an on-line class this summer so I am a student and a principal!  I am writing this from my office.  Mr. Klein, Mrs. Kildare, Mr. Madrigal and I are busy getting the school ready for you.  I will be in Vermont next week and hope to have more time for my summer reading.  I hope your summer vacations are  going well.  Have fun!
